Best Concerts of 2019

The first concert I ever attended was a James Taylor show at the Mann Music Center with my Mom and Dad. (Well, this was my first concert outside of church). My Dad bought tickets for the show after seeing me listen to a Best of James Taylor album non-stop. It was my first time listening to an album obsessively, then seeing the show in person. Taylor’s performance was great, too! The stage was filled with incredible musicians playing the music with great care and detail. Looking back, it’s kind of funny thinking about this show, though. Taylor was well beyond his “prime” as an artist, but that show was a baseline for me, and sparked an interest in going to concerts.
Over the course of the year, I got to go to some really cool shows. Some of the highlights from the year being able to finally see the original Robert Glasper Experiment in concert, Anita Baker in concert for the first time, and some of my personal guitar hero’s in Eric Gales and Gary Clark Jr, plus many more.
